  1. So thrilled to see a new post from Mother Nature! Yay! Do you have another site where you are now posting? I've missed you. Your green woodpecker is fabulous---and gorgeous against that lavender wall. Such a beautiful bird. I love that long beak too, especially as you captured it at nearly the exact angle of the branch. Have never before known about a green woodpecker. We get glimpses of a pileated in our yard occasionally, and more commonly, the red-bellied and downy, but never a GREEN one. Have a great visit in Germany.

    1. Hey there,
      I have one other Blog:
      http://waldpfade.blogspot.de/
But I am slacking in both...
I also use G+, not sure if you do?

I love seeing all the different birds and would love to get to see your varieties one day =)
Today I saw my first Cormorant in Germany, didn't even realize we had them :)

  2. One blog is all I can manage to write. Even that is hard to keep up with :-). But will look for you at waldpfade. A cormorant! Have loved and pitied cormorants all my life, due to a favorite childhood book, The Story About Ping, by Marjorie Flack. One sad page was about fishermen on the Yangtzee River putting tight rings around the cormorants' necks so they would bring big fish to the fisherman, only to be fed with tiny fish. I used to CRY when I read that page. Loved the rest of the story though :-)

    1. I have these two Blogs since my themes just go too far for one Blog.
During the times I blog a lot I would swamp folks with entries ;-)
Sad about those Cormorants, .... !
And thanks for the compliments about the photos :-)!

  3. Just checked out your photos at waldpfade---love your titles---will forward that site to a friend of mine who has just taken up photography. It's a skill I highly admire because it takes so much time to master---and is an effort I don't dare add to my other hobbies! You have a sharp eye for artful glimpses.
